A report undertaken by British employment agency Manpower, has revealed that 20% of British companies actively look overseas to fill vacancies caused by skills shortages. The most common vacancies filled by foreign workers are labouring roles, followed by chefs, skilled trades, PAs, accounting and finance, customer service and doctors and nurses.

A report conducted by the Centre for Economic and Business Research has revealed that an estimated 2.8% of Britain’s workforce will be made up of skilled overseas migrants by the year 2012 and that they will be contributing around £77bn to the economy.
