In a reaction to the rising public concern over uncapped immigration in the UK, Home Secretary John Reid has speculated on the need for official limits on the number of people entering the country. He hinted at plans to set up a regulatory body to advise on optimum levels of immigration consistent with economic viability and social stability.
“People recognise that others from outside this country can bring great skills here, but they also want to be assured that our services, whether it’s schools or hospitals, and indeed their own terms and conditions, will be preserved and immigration will be managed,” Reid said on a news discussion program on the BBC.
Britain is in need of skilled migrants to offset its labour shortage and encourages immigrants who are likely to benefit that situation. Perhaps you have skills and are interested in migrating to the UK? Visit www.workingin-uk.com to find out how.
