Passengers to be Finger-printed at British Airports

The UK’s Home Office’s Border and Immigration Agency has recently confirmed that it is considering imposing new regulations at its borders that would include passengers having their fingerprints recorded.  A spokesman for the border agency said the measures were to “strengthen our borders using new technology”.

The changes have been catalysed by the existance of four ‘grey’ departure lounges where domestic and international passengers can shop in the same area.  Authorities have growing concerns that these common departure areas have the potential to be exploited by terrorists and that maintaining security necessitates a more thorough screening of passengers.

The UK is currently experiencing labour shortages and is encouraging skilled migrants to move to the country to take up vital roles in a raft of different industries, the borders are getting busier and busier.  If you are considering moving to the UK take a look at www.workingin-uk.com.
